The Jean Monnet Research Project “The reconfiguration of the EU presence in Latin America” – in short: @EUinLAC – brings together an interdisciplinary team of young and established scholars, balanced in gender and age. Short bio – Millán Requena:
- Assistant Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at the University of Alicante (Spain).
- Visiting professor at the University of Lisbon (from 2012 to present) taught a monographic course on “Litigation in Economic International Law”.
- Coordinator of three European Modules in the Jean Monnet program.
- I have been research stages in various foreign centers (ad.ex., European University Institut, Florence, 2007).
- Author of various publications in the field of International Investment Law; EU law or protection of national minorities in Europe.
- Academic Secretary of the Faculty of Law (2012-2016); Actually, Head of Department of Public International Law and Criminal Law at UA (2021-).
Breve bio – Millán Requena:
- Profesor titular de Derecho Internacional Público y Relaciones Internacionales de la Universidad de Alicante (España).
- Profesor visitante de la Universidad de Lisboa (desde 2013) impartiendo un curso monográfico sobre “Litigation in Economic International Law”.
- Coordinador de tres Módulos europeos consecutivos en el marco del programa Jean Monnet.
- Ha realizado estancias de investigación en diversos centros extranjeros de reconocido prestigio (p.e., Instituto Universitario Europeo de Florencia, 2007).
- Autor de diversas publicaciones en el campo del Derecho Internacional de las Inversiones; Derecho de la UE o la protección de las minorías nacionales en Europa.
- Secretario académico de la Facultad de Derecho (2012-2016); y, en la actualidad, Director del Departamento de Derecho Internacional Público y Derecho Penal de la UA (2021-).
